Artist Information

Biography
Contemporary Pop writer/artist Ariel Thiermann was born on the top floor of a big blue house at the end of a dead end street in Santa Cruz, Ca. where she began singing almost before she could talk. The daughter of well known A&M children's recording artist-Linda Arnold, she toured the country with her mom discovering along the way how music could reach even the youngest heart. As she grew, so did her depth and range. With the a cappella trio Mayim, she adopted vocal styles from around the globe blending them together, creating breathtaking musical tapestries that stand the test of time. As a solo artist, Thiermann's songs are vulnerable and brave. Her voice is "a rich, tuneful and expressive instrument that propels the listener in to the realm of divine possibilities."- Adrienne Rogers Ariel's pop world view challenges us to discover the shining parts of ourselves-our strengths, our weaknesses-and always our truth. With influences ranging from Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro to Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel, Ariel's musical language is raw, intelligent and passionate. Sounds and rhythms come and go- atmospheres suddenly surround you - lyrics and poetry open your heart.  “My body is like a subway car” notes Thiermann adding, ”songs enter me and leave me and I never know when a new crowd of melodies will show up.”  A continuing emotional exploration of the human condition is evident on “Dance With Me”  which appears on Ariel's latest Cd entitled “Behold.” She sings, “Put down your weapons tonight, I refuse to fight war with war and fear with fear.” And on “Summer Breeze” from her debut collection entitled "My Art Is A Bird," she asks, "I wonder when I die, will I shoot like a comet down, and fade into the night...or maybe it will be like a summer breeze..." Ariel Thiermann is currently in the process of writing and recording a new album of songs.
