Biography
MORELAND & ARBUCKLE

Moreland and Arbuckle may warm their hands around traditional blues flames, but this wily Kansas band's forte is sneaking into the brush to ignite their own original music blazes. What roars forth is a rare combustion of musical alchemy; kinetic, charismatic and infinitely interesting.

"I think our sound is a direct reflection of our listening." comments Aaron Moreland about the group's mish mash style.” We dig Led Zeppelin as much as Little Walter, the Sex Pistols as much as Hank Sr. Bits and pieces of every genre we adore are incorporated in the music we write and perform."

Moreland and Arbuckle have a distinct magic in scarcity of band members, to great effect. "Like many great things, going 3-piece, without a bassist, was a serendipitous bliss." laughs Moreland. "I play a cigar box guitar. It's got a bass string and guitar strings. So without a bassist we still produce a primitive low end that's on fire."

Moreland and Arbuckle work perfectly as Dustin Arbuckle's gritty, unfettered vocals and sneering harp dovetail effortlessly with Aaron Moreland's panoply of strings. Add Brad Horner's propulsive drum chops, and the result is music with an un-contrived sense of energy and magnetism. The authentic songwriting shines, creating scenes that are cinematic as well as earthy and encompassing.

Moreland and Arbuckle respect traditional influences, but are constantly crashing and bashing musical tinker toys to build their own unique designs. In a landscape of pigeon holes and stale music rehash, Moreland and Arbuckle are plying and perfecting a new vein of sound; soulfully sincere, eloquently bright and ready to rock.
