Biography Storm Within’s musical style can only be described as an “Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove.” Combining the power and presence of legendary heavy metal originators such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest with the nu-metal feel and attitude of Slipknot, Disturbed and Tool, these seasoned stage performers deliver the goods with an effortless theatrical flair. They have carefully crafted a blend of musical styles that produces a unique and compelling sound that rings true with the name…STORM WITHIN! Storm Within has heated up the Arizona music scene with crowd pleasing performances at the Arizona State Fair in 2003 and 2004, in addition to supporting performances for National Acts such as Drowning Pool, Velvet Revolver, Sacred Reich, Tesla, and George Lynch. While building an exceptionally diverse fan base with their victories in several Battle of the Bands competitions including a win at the Hard Rock Café in Phoenix, Storm Within has truly earned the nomination of “Best Metal Band in Phoenix” by Guitar and Keyboard City. No challenge is too overwhelming for Storm Within; traveling out of state to audition for the Battle for Ozzfest competition is just an example of how far this band will go for the music. Surviving four of the five cuts of the competition, front woman Debra Darlene can be seen in the first commercial for the reality series and on episodes of the show airing on MTV. 2005 has been the break out year for Storm Within, bursting onto the national music scene with showcase performances at the GoGirls Showcase at SXSW, the Millennium Music Conference, and a performance atop the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas at the ConneXion International Music Conference. The summer of 2005 has seen Storm Within travel from one end of the U.S. to the other, and back again with an impressive schedule of metal festival performances including the renowned Milwaukee Metal Fest, the Blackened Deth & Hardkore Fest, the Fatal Force Fest, and an invitation to share the same stage as Disturbed, Dope, and Seemless at the Locobazooka United We Rock Festival.
