Biography
Acoustic Son began at a Thanksgiving gathering in 1999 while singing improvs around the dinner table. They released their first CD in 2002 and their CD - Time in the Middle – was released in October 2004. With songs driven by the emotionally-tinged education of a passionate life, Acoustic Son’s new CD is a harmonic journey that takes you through heartfelt ballads and richly textured melodies. Produced by Bonnie Hayes, and featuring some of the Bay Area’s finest musicians, Time in the Middle, captures the energy of Acoustic Son’s live shows and adds all the clarity, permanence, and soulfulness that make up a great CD. Acoustic Son has played many venues in the San Francisco area, including: the little fox, 19 Broadway, Hotel Utah, the Bazaar Café, Cafe du Nord, Pat O’shea’s, Pioneer Saloon, Cafe Amsterdam, Ireland’s 32, the Cannery, the Curve, Caffe Trieste, Rasellas, and Thee Parkside. Acoustic Son has also performed at many music festivals and fairs playing original music along with a wide range of covers, putting their distinct interpretations on songs from artists such as Sheryl Crow, Neil Young, Ben Harper, and many more!
