Artist Information Biography Rik Barron has toured North America and Europe for nearly thirty years and has included folk music for young children in schools, fairs and concert halls throughout Canada for the last 25 years. His enthusiasm for and popularity with young audiences is undiminished. A testament to this young audience appeal is the more than two thousand performances of his Odd Sock Kids Show, including eight seasons at PEI's Old Home Week and the Charlottetown Festival. While his latest release Shine is more on the relaxing side his live children's concerts are high energy, engaging performances where the audience listens, sings, dances and laughs. He is a true folk troubadour and his performances never stray from that tradition. They are works of substance that need nothing more than Rik and his instruments. Rik is an accomplished and respected folk/roots performer. Known for his unique banjo and guitar styles and smooth baritone voice, he entertains his audiences with a seamless blend of singing, expert playing and humor.
