Artist Information Biography JULY 2008 I am proud to announce that I am currently rehearsing on drums in Tucson with the legendary rock guitarist Michael Bruce. As you may or may not know, Michael was the creative force in Alice Cooper (the band), playing guitar, keyboards, vocals, and writing such great classics as Be My Lover, I'm Eighteen, Is It My Body, Desperado, Under My Wheels, School's Out, Elected, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Billion Dollar Babies, Muscle Of Love, and many others. I got into Alice Cooper when "Easy Action" came out in 1970. I played drums in a band with some buddies and was learning some of Neal Smith's amazing drumming. My all time favorite song to play would have to be "Billion Dollar Babies". We do "Halo Of Flies" which is fun to play also. To all fans of Michael Bruce and the band Alice Cooper, I must say that Michael raises the bar and is an inspiration... and he's funny. His live performance is an inspiration to any rock band. Hearing the man behind that sound brings out the magic. In addition to Michael I also get to play with the incredible guitarist Bob Russell and bassist Steve Conklin. Javier Garcell on lead vocals. The Michael Bruce Group is currently rehearsing in Tucson for a show next month in Phoenix, as well as making preparations for a possible new album with all new songs from Michael Bruce. Most recent shows included the very fine drumming of Robin Horn at "The Whiskey" in Hollywood, and Bob Allen at "Red Owl" in Tempe, and "Mardi Gras" in Scottsdale. May 2008 Since my November entry, many new developments have occurred. I am working on a Top Secret project with a known producer that will certainly turn heads and ears on end. Nothing I have ever done will be included in this project. Totally new genre, sound etc., etc. We are projecting a 2-3 year completion date. On another note, I have just added a new set of V-Pro TD-20 drums to 'My Furry Friends Studio'. I am a lazy programmer when it comes to drums. Having played all my life, I can now play my parts instead of programming. Currently there is no new music from me yet. November 2007 After attending the Taxi Rally in LA, I have decided to stop the presses, take a broader look at things and take a step back in order to get two forward in the future. I can say for certain that my future recordings will surpass anything I have done previous to this point. Thank you Tony Alexander and Taxi. October 2007 I recently played keys and then drums at a 14 hour Super Session with Willie Oteri, Stuart Hamm, Jerry Marotta, Cat Mclean, John Mulvey, Chris Michalek, GiGi Gonaway, Skinny Bishop, Jason Wiedman, and others in Phoenix, Oct. 13th 2007 at the Brickhouse Theater. An amazing show! www.myspace.com/supersessionsorg www.youtube.com/terrydaun I am a business owner in Chandler, Arizona. www.terrydaun.4t.com I am single, healthy and responsible. Thank you for your consideration. terrydaun@msn.com 480.703.1137 Cell TERRY DAUN Born on October 29, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas. Terry has been around music since day one. His mother Helen played the guitar and organ. She also wrote and sang her own songs in nightclubs in the Phoenix area during the 1960’s. As early as 10 years old, Terry started going out with his mother while she performed with the likes of Waylon Jennings and Marty Robbins. Terry started with guitar lessons at 8, but gave it up after a year and a half. At age 11, the hottest sound around was “Wipe Out” by The Safaris. “A lot of kids got turned on to drums at that time, and I was one of them”, he states. His main influences were; Mitch Mitchell (Hendrix Experience), John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and as Terry would put it, the “greatest” jazz/rock drummer ever, Ginger Baker (Cream). Some of the bands Terry has played drums and sang with over the years are: "Moments Notice" (Drums/Vocals), a popular variety dance band. "The Penetrators" (Drums/Vocals), a tuff ass 2 guitar, blues rock band with Tim Greer & Tim Finn on guitars. "KATO" (Drums/Vocals), a Cream cover band with the amazing John Kerlin on Guitar and Rick Bogan on Bass. "Attitude Cat" (Drums/Vocals), (Jack Wolf, Perry Fretz, Steve Bogart) and "Is Not Is Too" (Drums/Vocals), were Top 40 rock. "MANIC-N" (Drums/Vocals) was voted "Hottest New Band for 1985" by Phoenix's Soundboard Magazine. Lyricist and singer Jeff Neugebauer(www.Jynkz.com) a huge influence wrote all of MANIC-N's songs. (www.hellotempe.com/music/manicnmusic.cfm) (Videos of KATO and MANIC-N can be viewed at: www.terrydaunmusic.com/Videos_at_DAUN.php In 1991, Terry started TMD Entertainment, a Karaoke / DJ company. Terry performed over 3000 shows in the Phoenix metro area. Karaoke has had an impact on Terry. “You can’t hear 75 to 80 top 10 hits a night, 6 nights a week, for several years, without being affected”. (I no longer do this line of work). TD. In December 2000 Terry joined forces with three old friends to form “White Noize”, an original hard rock band in Tempe, Arizona. Terry began as Lead Vocalist, and soon added percussion and keyboards. “It is very possible that I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the experiences I had in White Noize… and I thank John McKibben for that”. In time Terry wrote the lyrics to 8 of the bands 21 songs that can be heard at www.whitenoize.net White Noize broke up in December 2003. By the end of August 2004, Terry had written and recorded 17 songs on his own in his, “My Furry Friends Studios”. This includes all of the instrumentation, as well as the backing vocals. “It’s funny you know… I did that whole album on a 10 year old Radio Shack keyboard". Terry is now using a Korg Triton and Korg M3. "Thank you Korg for creating such fine instruments." He is also starting to include library samples and live players from nearby ASU music department. All of this due in great part to Tony Alexander and Terry's association with TAXI. Michael B.
