Biography A TRUE ELECTRIC BLUES-ROCK BAND For Years Frontman / Harp player Otto Lenz and Guitarist Scotty Monette have been lighting up the Northeast and Canadian Blues scene with their explosive performances ! Rhythm section provided by music veterans Doug Plavin on Drums and Tom Terry on Bass! Phil Whipple of the Maine Blues Society sums it up pretty good after witnessing a show in Portsmouth NH !!! In the Mar/April 2007 edition of the Maine Blues Society Newsletter, writer Phil wrote: "Frontman Otto Lenz is a world-class harp blower, and guitarist Scott Monette will blow your mind." After putting in years studying traditional approaches to playing the blues, front man Otto Lenz trained extensively with harmonica legend Howard Levy of the Flecktones. Otto has since gone on to forge his own cutting edge style. On any given night Otto can be spotted sitting in with blues giants such as Kenny Neal, Sherman Robertson, Phillip Walker, and many others. Scotty Monette has always remained true to the blues, but been known to play some rock, rockabilly, even recording some country tunes with his old lap steel! For decades, Scotty has been lighting up stages and festivals with his guitar work in the U.S. and Canada - Teaming up with Otto, Ottomatic Slim has become a double barrel - one two punch - whammer jammer show that will leave you speechless !! Ottomatic Slim has opened for numerous national shows, including John Lee Hooker, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Lonnie Brooks, Son Seal, and Joanna Conner. They have also played overseas at various venues including the London Jazz Festival. Ottomatic Slim was the headlining band at the Carleton International Blues Festival in Quebec--sharing the stage with Eddie Shaw and The Wolfgang TuTu Jones, Jackie Payne, Steve Edmunson, Sue Foley and other legendary acts. Their album titled "Ottomatic Slim" has enjoyed national airplay on both commercial radio and National Public Radio. "Otto's the best harmonica player I know, period” - Son Henry Otto’s playing has been described as "tongue twisting" by Dirty Linen, "top notch" by Blues Revue, and his wild dance floor antics and powerful stage performance have been described as "masterful" by Blues Audience. "I have seen Ottomatic Slim's audience get up and dance where there is no dance floor! They always put on such an incredible performance!
