"Expect a good blend of tempos with plenty of tremolo picking and midpaced power chords, with a few riffs hitting on subtly technical runs, while the vocals are a hoarse growl that I find to be rather effective . Overall it kind of comes off as a blend of both the early American and European death metal scenes, musically and vocally, with some quirkier rhythms at times bringing in a more contemporary sound (see "Deciever" especially)"

"The playing on here is flawless..." "The album is a persuasive showcase of convincingly articulated and definitely well-played death metal with some characteristic musical details that stands out. I simply love the bass tone and those bass parts that are very audible upfront in some of the songs... I'm sure that we will hear more from these guys. "

"Their death metal is rather technical and very heavy and if nothing else the musicianship is rather good. They know each other’s play and style and for a three piece band they have a very heavy sound. There’s definitely talent in this band and they have songs that could appear on any signed band’s album. They know how to write a good song... I believe that the guys are ready for something more than just a self produced and self released album."

"In late 2004 their self-titled debut album was released with the brutality and raw technicality, like early Immolation. Their song structures are somewhat like Morbid Angel; they aren’t afraid to change things up. Think of Immolation, Incantation, Morbid Angel, and maybe a little Death, especially during the solos. Solace of Requiem has quite a selection of worthy death metal riffs. I repeatedly thought that I was listening to the one of the previously mentioned bands. This would be hard to get bored with; old school death metal fans will devoir this disc."

"Tons of Influences are worth mentioning here as the band attacks with full ammunition on this very impressive debut. It's been a while since I've heard such a tight sounding Death Metal band from the underground. Jeff Sumrell who plays bass as well as being the vocalist sounds a little like Max Cavalera and Steve Tucker at times as Jeff's deep growls echo throughout this CD. But this band is not a one man show, these three guys really sound like there is a forth member involved, that's the amazing thing about the band Solace Of Requiem as they bring out some seriouisly technical riffs on tracks "Stir no echo" and "On to unreal". I don't think they will have a hard time finding label interest in the future... It's very good to hear that bands in the Death Metal genre can get more creative with their work. Not everyone must follow the idea's of Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under. Solace Of Requiem take their own idea's and direction and turn it into their own world of success."

"Solace of Requiem is resuscitating Old School Death Metal and kicking it up a notch, in fact they cranked it to eleven! This band breathes new life into a dying genre, placing a new refreshing approach to an old tried and true style, and reformulating the genre with a twist, an injection of jazz and Southern Comfort. This prodigious 3-piece packs a mighty punch! They are a delight to the auditory senses. From beginning to end this CD astonished me! Every track is blistering and sharp, this is a damn good effort for this unsigned band."

"Quick well-thought-out compositions rush in my mind… Heavy technical or the "hexadecimal" riffs, the melodious solos, the good work of drums and complex parties of bass guitar as well as sharp growling create the typical death metal climate... Though some patents run out beyond the frame of typical death metal, sometimes these appear in the progressive guitar motives. The pace of material is sinusoidal often, from very quick, aggressive threshing till slow dull, outright doom metal's slow down. Generally those complex arrangements create heavy, aggressive and even melodious."
