Artist Information Biography "Then there are the times You think you'll lose your mind, But you don't, And then you're walking through the world With your heart in your hand, Free once again..." ---The Drews, "Stairwells" The Drews is a band emerging-- from death, from sickness, from sleep, by healing. Five years ago, The Drews were poised to take over the world. They had a brand new critically acclaimed CD, an upcoming national and European tour, and stars in their eyes. It is often said that the thing you can least predict is the thing that will occur. Right at the time when the universe appeared to be setting everything up for The Drews to do the thing they love best -- play music, the other side of the pendulum dropped. Andrew got sick, and sicker, and wound up on his deathbed. All gigs had to be cancelled, the boxes of CDs stored in a garage, and the music put on hold, while he fought for his life. Five years have passed, Andrew found a spare part (thanks to the UW Transplant Center), and The Drews are back to making music. They are re-releasing their CDs, The Sins of Others and Strategically Interrupted Silence, and are still ready to take over the world. Even better, they have joined back up with their old friend and drummer, Chris Adams, and are gigging again. It's like they never left. In fact, it's better than ever. The pendulum is swinging their way... ? "Think of a bunch of good old boys sitting on the porch passing around the jug labeled XXX and you can feel the atmosphere a little bit better" -- Keith "Muzikman" Hannaleck, Muzikreviews.com and Blues Matters (UK) "Head-turning, no frills music that's full of chance-taking and imagination." Gary von Tersh, Sing Out! "These roots sure are twisted, but there's a place on the tree for everyone." -- Joelle Seligson, leftoffthedial.com Instrumentation Andrew DiMartino - guitar Jen DiMartino - bass Discography The Sins Of Others Strategically Interrupted Silence Links
