Biography
Dennis and MacDonald of The Braeded Chord could be your typical Northern Virginia suburban mom music duo-- their kids were in the same class, they lived in the same neighborhood, and worked together in a church worship band.  But they draw on their diverse backgrounds to produce a sound that is both unique and universal, appealing to all generations. Sharon, a former petroleum engineer, is a gifted lyricist who grew up playing guitar, studying french, writing poetry, and excelling in math and sports.  While Sharon comes from Alexandria, VA, Doris is from California, and grew up singing in numerous ensembles and choirs, had a classical training in piano, opportunities to live and travel abroad, and studied to be an elementary school teacher.  Together they create songs that draw from multiple genres and are noted for their thought-provoking lyrics, strong melodic lines and frequent interjections of musical humor.  Two of their songs, "Rainbowland" and "I Will Wait," received recognition in the 2004 Mid-Atlantic Song Competition and the Great American Songwriting Contest.  In 2005, their song "O Tiny Child" was a semifinalist in both the UK Songwriting Contest and the 2005 Mid-Atlantic Song Competition.  "On the Wings of Your Song" and "In the Arms of Infinity", both songs from their latest CD, were recognized in the 2006 Mid-Atlantic Song Competition.  They received  three WAMMIEs, one in 2007 for Best Gospel/Inspirational Recording (Radio Lane) and two in 2008 and 2006 for Best Gospel/Inspirational Group.
