Artist Information Biography With influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Gillian Welch and Bill Monroe to James McMurtry, One Horse Shy’s sound is the culmination of 100 years of roots music distilled into a powerful blend of evocative ballads and foot-stomping roots rock. Two seasons of radio play, touring and performing have served to greatly expand the fan base of the Ashland, Oregon urban country band. Dynamic stage performances featuring intelligent original music and boot stomping danceability continue to be One Horse Shy’s hallmark. Accompanied by the haunting texture of her claw hammer banjo, Manda Bryn's vocal performances bring the band’s lyrical pictures to life. Cris Kelly completes the duet by providing the perfect counter point to Manda as the strong lead male vocalist while continuing to churn out original songs accompanied by his driving rhythm guitar. Bob Evoniuk's innovative lap steel guitar and dobro performances have provided an on-going revolution since his debut with the band, a point in One Horse Shy history band members and fans have identified as the release of real horsepower. Mysha Caruso on bass and Bryan Helfrich on percussion provide a rock solid rhythm foundation for the rest of the band to build upon. In addition, Mysha’s vocal work, mandolin playing and song writing bring additional depth to the One Horse Shy sound. Fans will be waiting in anticipation for the band’s follow-up as One Horse Shy is currently in the studio recording another collection of strong, original material. The band’s self-titled debut album was acclaimed as Southern Oregon’s best album of 2008 and One Horse Shy was lauded by local media as the regions favorite band.
