Scarlett Affection is the classically trained two piece comprising of sisters Melia & Nerida. Melia, a theatre actor who trained at the VCA and Nerida a composer and performer who trained has a Bachelor of Music Composition from SCU have been co-collaborators since they were youngsters living on a dilapidated apple orchard south of Hobart in Tasmania. After creating Scarlett Affection in Byron Bay in 2004, the sisters have travelled to the USA and Canada to perform at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, Canadian Music Week and a show at The Knitting Factory in New York City. Last year Peter Garrett and his Department of Environment, Heritage, Water and the Arts awarded Scarlett Affection a TRAX Contemporary Music Touring Program Grant, enabling them to travel on a Real, Raw and Regional Tour to new territories - Broken Hill, Wilcannia and beyond. This tour was exceptional – creating an extraordinary opportunity for Scarlett Affection to meet and engage with new audiences in remote parts of NSW and to swap stories. Scarlett Affection has received an Honorary Award in the 9th Annual Great American Song Contest, and the sisters have played some stand-out shows including Peat’s Ridge Festival, East Coast Blues Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Cobargo Folk Festival, and The Basement in Sydney. Sisters Melia and Nerida are passionate about inspiring emerging songwriters and performers, earlier this year they created the Inspiration Program, a mentoring and coaching facility that was conceived after resounding response was unearthed in the local community. The program consists of one-on-one mentoring, workshops, recording and performance opportunities and the feedback has been incredible. After recent supports for Clare Bowditch, Renee Geyer and Jenny Morris, this dynamic act is vibrant, engaging, and beautifully melodic.

Scarlett Affection's beautiful debut album features the award winning re-released track 'Denouement', single 'Scandinavian Bitch Waitress' and hit song 'Buckets' all receiving airplay on local and national radio. Tracks from this record have even received airplay Internationally in the US, UK and Europe.
EP - Laced 2004
Tracks from their ALBUM 'Our Sweet Ambush', EP 'Laced' and various LIVE recordings are regularly played on community radio stations and nationally on ABC Radio and Triple J.
