Artist Information Biography Dewayne Clifton (vocals) went full force into music eight years ago. Starting off as a singer in a heavy metal band, Clifton made the transformation into the purist form of rock - acoustic music. As a self-trained singer his influences include Slipknot and Slayer. Dewayne Clifton is a bona fide artist who has a goal of recognition , not financial gain. . James Cottrell (drums) has a degree in music from The University of California, Riverside. With twenty-one years of skill under his belt, Cottrell started off as a self-taught musician whose collegiant training allowed him to pass on his knowledge to his own music students. James’ influences include Motely Crue, Poison and Metalica. Tommy Lee and Carter Beauford remain principal inspirations within Cottrell’s skin work. Touring with Waiting for Decay on a national level is the main goal for James Cottrell. Rik Bernotas (bass) is the newest addition to Waiting for Decay. Two months into his partnership with WFD, Bernotas boasts fifteen years of experience in the music industry. A self-taught bassist, Rik’s influences include Megadeth, Motorhead, Anthrax, Steve Harris and Geezer Butler. Bernotas’ prior experience in heavy metal bands has developed into a desire to contribute to writing, and playing, to mass audiences on the world stage with Waiting for Decay. "Z" (guitar) has been playing since age six. Coming from a musical family, Z played his first show at The Roxy on The Sunset Strip at age 13. A veteran of the SoCAL music scene, he has shared the stage with heavy hitters in most musical genres. (Santana, Ozomatli, LA Guns, Poncho Sanchez, Freddy Fender, Los Lobos, Five Finger Death Punch, Racer X). This wide scope of influences is featured in WFD's song writing. As a result of Waiting for Decay’s multi-versed appeal they have conjured an assortment of tour dates, radio interest, and multi-media press. In addition, the band is professionaly represented with an active manager, recognized label, and qualified publicity firm. The band’s sound is often described in the press as hard-core metal with an acoustic filter, grunge, blues, and southern rock. All these genres not only fit Waiting for Decay’s radio pre sence, but scratch the surface of categories of which the band's sound can fit into. Waiting for Decay has played at the infamous Viper Room, The famed Roxy, opened for L.A. Guns, opened for Adema at The Knitting Factory in California, are listed as one of Los Angeles’ top 100 rock bands, made “Top Artist” in several categories on MySpace (rock, metal, acoustic), released an album titled Arena for the Unwell in 2007, and owns feature quotes from writers with Skinnie Magazine, Music Connection Magazine, and Fresh Ink Magazine to name only a few of Waiting for Decay's foremost achievements. Moving into the second half of 2009, Waiting for Decay has an aggressive touring schedule. The band’s label, Dirtbag Music Records, is working closely to license the band’s music for television and film. Dirtbag Music Records is shopping WFD for sponsorship deals to conicide with the band's upcoming album. While the band is headed to the studio in September of 2009, TRP Music Group (represented with Tim Robinson) will be conscientiously promoting Waiting for Decay’s summer tour. Starting on June 26th through September of 2009, the band will be performing at music festivals and venues around the south-west part of The United States. In the duration, the demand for Waiting for Decay in the press is vigorously being supervised by Tanya Vece of TV PR. Terrestrial, Internet and Sirius radio opportunities of the past will be developed as a direct result of WFD's popular demand. A campaign of press releases, interviews, and exclusive updates will be made available to print and social media. Waiting for Decay is not a band on the rise.
