Artist Information Biography Luca Mundaca = Brazilian bossa nova at its best! Luca's sultry voice and memorable bossa nova melodies will take you to the heart of Brazil. Luca's voice has been compared to the likes of Maria Rita, Adriana Calcanhoto and Marisa Monte. The song "Ha Dias" off her debut album “Day by Day” has rocketed Luca to national and international recognition. Luca won the 2008 Independent Music Awards in the World Fusion category, her song “Ha Dias” was recently licensed for the upcoming movie "The Visitor" scheduled for release in April of 2008, and can also be found on Putumayo World Music’s album “Brazilian Lounge”. Other songs off of “Day by Day” can be found on Lovemonk’s “Cappuccino”, Gira Mundo’s “Music of the Present Age” and Putumayo’s “Women of the World Acoustic”. Luca completed a successful west coast and Canadian tour in association with Putumayo World Records in the spring of 2007. Luca was just selected as a finalist in the 2008 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for the song "Ha Dias," in the World Music category. The category winners and grand prize winner will be announced in April 2008. Luca's story - she was born in Chile and moved with her family to Valinhos in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 6. Luca is a self-taught musician. She wrote her first song the day she learned her first three chords. From that moment on, Luca devoted her life to her music. Luca moved to NYC in 1999 in search of the American dream. Lumeni Productions believed in her voice and music. Luca went to Brazil to record and self-produce her album Day by Day. Day by Day is a beautiful CD. It is getting much recognition from some of the top music industry people.
