10+ Gigs Booked through Sonicbids! Artist Information

Biography
Jessica has produced two full-length albums; three music videos; obtained airplay on CHR, Rock & AC radio; toured Canada; showcased in Hamburg and LA, opened for bands like Simple Plan, Hedley, Mobile, Lily Frost, Scatterheart and SilverSun Pickups; placed songs on CBC TV and two independent films; received press coverage in The National Post, Georgia Straight and St John's Telegram... and she’s done it all without a record label.

Jessica is currently touring and promoting her new record "FOR YOUR PROTECTION".

With comparisons to artist like Fiona Apple, Chantal Kreviazuk, Pink and Alanis Morissette, Jessica has continued to show growth and consistency in her song writing.

"An artist who's originality and passion will make legends Carole King, Kate Bush and Tori Amos proud...Jessica also puts on a hot live show".
- Stewart Meyers, Program Director, Astral Media.

"FOR YOUR PROTECTION is one of those records that from the moment you press play, you know you've found something special. This album defies gravity!"
- Matt Schichter Music Director, Fuel 90.3

Since the release of her 2006 commercial début, STICKY HANDS, Jessica has obtained national distribution in Canada, radio airplay and Video play on Much Music and MuchMore Music.

"Jessica's songs are hooky and very radio-friendly… well-written, well-produced material …fantastic to watch as a live performer!" - Mike Savage, Artist Manager (Meiko), former Senior Director Creative & Media, A&R Worldwide.

After performing at Hamburg's Reeperbahn festival in 2007, Jessica gained interest from NDR2 Radio and ZDFTV. Jessica was featured in a segment on Vancouver on ZDF TV (aired in August 2008). This has also prompted the addition of a German Management team.

Jessica grew up in Toronto’s Annex district with exposure to everything from skate punk to club dub.

As a child, Jessica was an avid fan of the Dr Demento show and enjoyed dressing up like Laurie Anderson for Halloween and reciting Cheech and Chong skits.

Inspired by her family's vinyl collection, Jessica could often be found lying under the stereo belting out along with Sam Cooke and Linda Ronstadt. By age ten, she knew all the words to the entire soundtrack of 'American Graffiti'.

Her father rescued a piano from a church basement and refinished it in their garage; thus allowing Jessica to channel her energy into something a bit more “productive”.

After an impetuous departure from high school Jessica bounced across the country between Victoria and Toronto before landing in the middle; putting down the closest thing to roots in Calgary. There, she began recording demos with a local producer at Organic Sounds Studio; releasing her first EP Independently in 2003.

In 2004, she won Calgary's 'Unsigned Vibe 2004' contest allowing her to record her 'Sticky Hands' album and produce three music videos for the singles "Change" "The World" and "Sticky Hands".

“Jessica's music represents the moment you know things are going to get better”. Todd Sanoy, Musician.

Despite her secret desire to be stranded on a deserted island with Tom Waits, a piano and a case of Lagavulin, Jessica currently lives in Canada.
