Biography
As a follow up to the highly successful Mid-West and East Coast run in April of 2006, BX3 is kicking it up a notch and will be touring together again for an amazing west coast tour beginning January 24th!

Each presenting their expertise and brilliance that made them all household names to every serious bassist and fans of great musicianship across the world, Stu Hamm, Jeff Berlin, and Billy Sheehan possess accolades that are almost innumerable.  Between the three of them, they have accumulated the “Best Rock Bass Player” seven times in Guitar Player, and the #1 Bassist awards in reader polls in the US, Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, and many other countries.

Major promotion via tour sponsor Bass Player Magazine will play an integral part in the marketing of this tour and BX3 will be the headline feature act at a Bass Player Magazine sponsored event in New York City where Stanley Clarke will receive a lifetime achievement award.  Bass Player will also be sponsoring the Tour Kick Off show at NAMM ’07.

Known for his stints with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and G3, Stu Hamm was voted Best Rock Bassist two years in a row, and Best Jazz Bassist for an incredible three years in a row.  He is still the only player to be nominated for both categories in the same year, two years in a row.  Hamm is one of Fender’s premier artists/clinicians, and his Hot Licks instruction video Slap Pop & Tap continues to be one of the best selling bass videos on the market.  Working closely with Fender’s custom shop, Hamm developed the Urge and Urge II basses, two of the finest custom basses.  Stu also uses Peavey amps.

As a member of Steve Vai, G3, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, and Talas fame, Billy Sheehan brings his chops that earned him the Best Rock Bass Player title from Guitar Player magazine five times, an honor which placed him in their “Gallery of Great” alongside Jimi Hendrix, Geddy Lee and Eddie van Halen – just to name a few.  In Japan, Billy won the prestigious Player Magazine Reader’s Poll for Best Bass Player an unprecedented fourteen times!

Jeff Berlin is widely regarded as the best electric jazz bass player in the world.  His double wins as #1 Bass Player in Guitar Player Magazine, plus his extensive list of recordings and gigs, have put Jeff as one of the most anticipated bass performers by music fans worldwide.  He is the favorite bass player of musicians such as Geddy Lee and is the only bass player to have successfully crossed the line of music by playing with rockers like Van Halen and jazzers such as Pat Metheny.

Touring with BX3 will be Jude Gold (guitar) and John Mader (drums).
