Artist Information Biography ...Your CD comes in the same group of packages as an Aimee Mann single und the Tracy Chapman album, which would lead many german colleagues to draw comparisons. I would say you are in their league ( and that's a compliment )...I think you've done a really fine record... Jim Sampson / Bayerische Rundfunk ...one begins to wonder, feverishly, what's coming next... Folker Magazine ...Support act, Susie Boehm , delivered a program of solid handcrafted music.. Her unpretentious songs are at their best when she shows her bite; an amazing response to an opening act... Peter Gruner / Nuernberg Nachrichten Nils Lofgren Review ...Unmistakably, Susie Boehm follows in the tradition of the greatest American songwriters, but her voice has it's own unique timber and her songs speak with their own unique poetic personallity... Jutta Czurda / Bayern 2 Radio Portrait: Music in Bavaria " Okay, so we were asked to open for Hootie at this private golf function on Maui..Ritz Carlton, very golfy.. and they liked us so well, they asked if we could open for them a couple of nights later at the Cultural Arts Center ...which we did...about 5,000 people, we did a great set...When we were finished and walked offstage, one of the crew gave me a big white fluffy towel and because I was very green I thought they wanted me to go back and wipe up my sweat from the stage... He just laughed-kindly to his credit- and said "no, hon, it's for you"...Oh my goodness, it was the best present I ever got... I still have that towel..." A move to Maui resulted in the pairing of Susie with Pam Navis, the formation of the duo "The Dames" and the recording of the CD " the title of a woman, equivalent to that of knighthood", which spawned 2 singles and a seriously devoted following in Hawaii, as well as select markets across the mainland US. After touring the states and opening for acts such as "Hootie and the Blowfish" and "The Doobie Brothers", the duo toured Germany where Susie met her future husband. Relocation to Germany in 1997 proved a fruitful, albeit challenging decision; after a 3 year break, Susie began writing again in earnest, placed 5 songs on 3 episodes of the vastly popular NBC Prime Time Drama "Providence" and began production of her first solo CD "Elemental". The CD was recorded both in Los Angeles, co-produced with monster sessionist and musical director Paul Mirkovich and also in Nuernberg, Germany. It was released in late 2005, has enjoyed airplay on major nationwide broad market stations, as well as several regional and countless local stations. Susie is now hard at work writing and preparing to start recording the next 2 CD's.
