Clear Blue Betty emerged in 2002 out of the highly respected Madison music scene and has quickly risen through the ranks to become a Wisconsin-music powerhouse.  Their freshman release, Never Been a Rebel, earned them the 2005 Madison Area Music Award (MAMA) for Best Rock Album.  Their sophomore disc, Write Your Name in the Sky, was released to a sold-out Majestic Theater crowd on April 28, 2006, and has already been described as "a giant step forward ... putting Clear Blue Betty in the running as one of Madison's hottest groups" (Rick's Cafe, May 06).  They have played in cities across the Midwest, including Denver, Chicago, St Louis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Rochester, Des Moines, among many others.

The band is led by "the straightforward local rockers' not-so-secret weapon" (Isthmus, April 06), Beth Kille, who was recently dubbed the “Queen of the Madison Rock Scene” (John Urban, Urban Theater, UPN 14) and earned the 2006 MAMA for Best Female Vocalist.  In December of 2006, the group added legendary guitarist John Masino, who was previously featured on the Gregg Clemons album on CBS Nemperor Records (1980) and was a semifinalist in the Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition (1999) at B.B. King's Blues Club in Memphis, TN.

Clear Blue Betty has been described as anything from "Madison's answer to the BoDeans" (Isthmus, Aug 06) to "intelligent, vigorous rock n' roll" (Madison Songwriters' Group, May 06) and "high energy Midwest roots rock" (Appleton Post Crescent, Mar 06).

Whatever the description, one thing is evident - their live shows are always powerful and entertaining, as thousands of fans at over 100 venues across 6 states can attest.
