Artist Information Biography A 4-piece Rock & Roll band hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Palominos self-titled debut effort contains eight original tracks recorded over a 7-day period at Sound of Music Studios (David Lowery of Cracker’s Studio) in their hometown. The album was engineered, produced, and mixed by Al Weatherhead, who has worked with bands such as Sparklehorse, Hotel Lights, Denali, and Jason Molina (Magnolia Electric Company/ Songs: Ohia). Upon completion it was sent to the Kitchen in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for final mastering. In a partnership with Tinderboxmusic, Palominos debut album has received heavy rotation on over 100 college radio stations across the country. Recent accolades include selection to perform at the 6th Annual Langerado Music Festival at Big Cypress, a performance on the Emmy nominated PBS program THE MUSIC SEEN, a nomination to perform at the 2006 Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, GA, and reaching #9 on CMJ top 20 Adds Chart for issue #990. Palominos has also had the chance to share the stage with some great National acts including: Dr. Dog, Matt Mays and El Torpedo, and Les Claypool to name a few. In 2008 Palominos teamed up with Al Weatherhead to record their second Album. EGOS is slated for release March 10, 2009.
