Biography
Skeeter Creek started off in 2002 as a 3 piece traditional Bluegrass band formed by Tim Seabolt of Walton, West Virginia, and Joe Kulewicz from the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. Skeeter Creek has become much more than a band, it's a way of life for these talented professional musicians.
Tim Seabolt moved to Upstate New York in 2002 from Nashville, North Carolina. Born and bred in West-by-God-Virginia, Tim's roots run deep in Gospel and Bluegrass. His family was very involved musically during Tim's childhood, setting the stage for his love of traditional music. Through some very unusal circumstances, Tim met Joe after moving to New York in 2002.
Joe has been involved in music for the last 18 years, playing in bands through the 80's and 90's, but was really never serious about music until Skeeter Creek. " I had been cutting my teeth in 80's bands and became kind of confused about what I wanted, musically". After starting a family and several years away from the music scene Joe met Tim and things changed. "After my divorce in'97, I found a new love, the acoustic guitar. I realized Country music is what I've always loved, and it's where I needed to be and really where I belong.  Tim and I met and just started playing. Something was very different about it, it was a whole new vibe, it was like I'd come home".
Skeeter Creek has built a reputation as "THE hardest working, most dedicated musicians to come from the Northeast Country Music scene in years". "It's just what we do. We create music that we love to perform". Over the last few years, Skeeter Creek has been fortunate enough to have played with some of the best musicians and performers around, performing with Artists such as Darryl Worley, Rhett Atkins, Chad Brock, Jeff Bates, Jim and Jeff Hagar (Hee-Haw), Pirates of the Mississippi, Chris Cagle, Emerson Drive, and most recently Mark WillsSkeeter Creek has built a reputation as "some of THE hardest working, most dedicated musicians to come from the Northeast Country Music scene in years".       After years of sacrifice, relentless hours of rehersals, sorting though band members, and working on the inspirations that have produced award winning original songs, Skeeter Creek has evolved into a band who heart is on it's sleeve at each and every performance. "We do what we love and we play every show like it might be our last. Our families have sacrificed so much so that we can do what we love, we appreciate every chance we get to perform ".
Skeeter Creek was nominated for 4 awards at the 2005 Northeast Country Music Association awards: Bluegrass band of the Year, Vocal group of the Year, Instrumental band of the Year, and the Sunrise award.
