Biography Alice is originally from Sussex, NJ.. not an exit off the turnpike, but a farming town in the foothills of the Poconos. She's played extensively throughout the NYC tri-state area, including festivals in NJ and PA where she shared the stage with some great bands such as Ween, The Nields and Medicine Stick. Alice has been writing, singing and playing as long as she can remember and began playing live while in college at the University of New Hampshire, pursuing a liberal arts degree among other things. Her influences run the gamut... from Gillian Welch to Bjork, Juliana Hatfield, PJ Harvey, Hope Sandoval, Yo La Tengo to Led Zepplin, Frank Black and the Catholics to Beethoven, Ella, Basie and Mose. As a solo performer, she's been compared to the likes of Beth Ornton, Tori Amos and Ani Difranco. With her band she channels less folk and more alt rock with a twist of country at times, add some trip-hop and shake.. there you have it.
