Biography
Armed with an arsenal of instruments, Mythica takes listeners on a sonic rollercoaster ride. Whether it's a funky Celtic jam, jaunty bluegrass tune, soulful ballad, or driving acoustic rock piece, Mythica's songs are inventive while accessible, fresh yet familiar.  Influenced by Irish, Scottish, and World music, and by contemporary artists like Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Simon and Garfunkel, and Led Zeppelin, Mythica's sound is a melting pot of genres tied together with powerful vocals, addictive melodies, provocative lyrics, and interesting instrumentation.

Since 2005, Mythica has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Celtic, folk, and pop/rock, including the Spin Doctors, Sister Hazel, Black 47, Celtic Crossroads, the Makem & Spain Brothers, Young Dubliners, Catie Curtis, Tom Chapin, and many others. 

Mythica regular tours the East Coast and has appeared at some of the largest events and many prestigious venues, including the Long Island Irish Festival (NY), Richmond (VA) Highland Games & Celtic Festival, Pittsburgh Ethnic Festival, Finger Lakes Wine Festival (NY), The Whitaker Center (Harrisburg, PA), Harrisburg ArtsFest (PA), The Tin Angel (Philadelphia), The Baby Grand Opera House (DE), Woodrow Wilson Plaza (Wash. D.C.), the Purple Fiddle (WV), Rumba Cafe (Columbus, OH), Sellersville Theater (PA), and hundreds more.

Mythica was dubbed Best Band in 2006 by 93.7 FM WSTW, and Best Celtic Fusion Band in the US by Celtic MP3 Music Magazine in 2007.  In 2008, lead singer Melissa Cox was awarded Best Singer/Songwriter by Spark Magazine, and Best Musical Folk Artist of 2008 by Del. Division of the Arts.

In 2006, Mythica released their highly-anticipated first studio recording, a 4-song EP titled"Dangerous Little Monster."  In 2007 the band released their first full-length 9 track studio recording, "Vicarious," which was praised as "a sophisticated, highly arranged approach to roots music" by Sing Out! Magazine.  Both studio projects were recorded and produced at Target Studios by Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Marc Moss.
