Biography
Via Dove exists to sing harmonies, make noise, rip through solos, shake hips, and make more noise. Loud guitars, sweet echoing melodies, and tight rhythms converge in songs that fear no label. It’s been done well before, and Via Dove does it well again. Maybe even better.
Amid smiles, laughs, and frequent debates about indie and classic rock, the band aims to find a common thread. They find it in the will to produce greatness from the piles of forgotten riffs and pre-grooved beats. They create a renewing sound. It is old and new. Loud and quiet. Serious and fun.
Hailing from Saint Louis, Via Dove has become part of the city’s scene by working in and with venues, bands, and promoters during the last half-decade. The band sonically emits the urban and historical Saint Louis while allowing blips of small-town roots from across the American landscape to peek through the walls of reverb.
Within the band, there is a passion for creation. All members pursue more than music, finding outlets in photography, graphic and web design, recording, small business, and promotion. United, the band provides collections of song and art.
The band released its debut EP, Twilight, on Might Be Time Records on June 17, 2008. A listen presents a beautiful and epic introduction to a simple band made of four productive individuals.
