Artist Information Biography Vincent's Chair Trio belong to a generation of musicians who eschew stylistic boundaries and have created a highly flexible hybrid which borrows from many and is beholden to none. The group write and perform original music which draws inspiration from folk, jazz and pop music to create a new Australian contemporary sound. 2006 saw the current line-up of singer-songwriter, Kathie Renner, viola player, Karen De Nardi, and guitarist, Hugh Stuckey perform together for the very first time at a music festival in Bucharest, Romania. Their performances were so successful that they've been together ever since, enjoying performances in the UK and their home country, Australia, as well as a self-released CD, "Stretch". Influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Sting, Paul Simon and Pat Metheny, to name a few, the trio are dedicated to producing music which is limited only by their imagination and exploration of musical palettes available to them. The recipient of a South Australian Music Industry Award, the group has performed to much acclaim at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the 2009 East End International Jazz Festival, EUROPAfest 2006 & 2008 in Romania, the U.K., as well as performances in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Instrumentation Kathie Renner - vocals, keyboards and acoustic guitar Karen De Nardi - viola and percussion Hugh Stuckey - electric and acoustic guitars Kathie Renner - Arguably one of Australia's finest singer-songwriters, Kathie possesses a voice of rare beauty and sings in a style of social comment reminiscent of Joni Mitchell.
