Artist Information Biography After ten years, four CD's and a boat-load of local critical and fan adoration, you come to expect certain things from a new Huck CD release. You know, for instance, the songwriting will be solid, there will be plenty of power-pop hooks and bright, crisp musicianship. But with this release, you would be wrong. What you get with "Never Been Nowhere" is a sophisticated song-cycle that delivers the unexpectedly lush arrangements and intelligently crafted songs of a mature band hitting its creative stride. Scott Ricciuti (guitar), Dan Lucas (drums) and Paul Dagnello, all from Massachusetts, share vocal duties and a solid history of writing and touring together. Produced in West Boylston, MA By Roger Lavallee and Richmond, VA by Dave Lowery, "Never Been Nowhere" showcases influences as diverse as music hall ("Dream), '70's pop _ minus the vapidness _ ("Stare into the Sun") and chamber pop ("Anything Real"). Clocking in at nearly and hour and coverigng 18 songs, this most recent Huck release is ambitious, to say the least. Sad, but not maudlin, meloncholy but not whiny, "Never Been Nowhere" also showcases plenty of crisp romps and dark humor. "Never Been Nowhere" goes to plenty of places, light and dark, and should propel Huck to somewhere its never been before.
