Artist Information Biography The beginnings of Cinetrope stemmed from conversations amidst two co-workers at a local bookstore. Their love for music, art and film would ignite a friendship. In the summer of 2003 Sharron Von Hoene, vocalist and Steve Johnston, guitarist made a journey to Florida to perform together for the first time. This event would lead to the foundation for Cinetrope. Soon they began to write songs and look for members to complete the new band. Charles Bennett was the first to be recruited as the band’s bassist. Soon after, Scotty Bryan joined as the fourth and final member of Cinetrope, providing drums for the band. In early 2004, the foursome began to write more songs and polish the unique Cinetrope sound. May 22, 2004 saw the first performance of Cinetrope at The Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was a success and the band went on to perform in and around the Atlanta area throughout the year. In 2005 the members of Cinetrope traveled to SummerHouse Sound to record with Chuck Jopski. Over the course of the year the band worked hard to polish and perfect songs for their debut album. Upon completion of the recording, renowned producer James Salter was brought in to add the finishing touches. ‘This Strange Romance’ is an eclectic mixture of the band’s diverse influences. The album, released on September 29, 2006, is a testament to what can happen when friends are drawn together by a love of music. Cinetrope went back in the studio to start their next project. A concept album that tells the story of a planet overwhelmed by a plague that creates zombie-like creatures and forces characters to escape into space. It will truly capture the cinematic feel that has become Cinetrope's signature sound.
