Country and Jazz are two main influences of Keith Everett & the Orange Morris, a four-piece music group that plays most often in New York City.  Vocalist, guitarist, principal songwriter and founder of the group, Keith Everett, was born in Queens, New York.  He is most inspired by the music of Willie Nelson.  Other inspirational artists include Pink Floyd, Cat Stevens, Ben Harper, and The Barenakedladies.  Lead guitarist of the group, Tosh Sheridan, has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, and recently earned his Masters in Jazz Performance from City College of New York.  His great inspiration is Gene Bertoncini, a world-renowned solo jazz guitarist and teacher.  Drummer Russ Meissner grew up in Toronto and began playing drums at age 11. He moved to the US in 1991 to attend the acclaimed jazz program at William Paterson University, where he studied with John Riley and Rufus Ried, and graduated with a BA in jazz performance.  Neil Young, John Coltrane, Willie Nelson, the musicians he plays with, and his cat, Clyde, are just some of his many influences.  Upright bassist Brian Kendall Moore, originally from Denver, Colorado, was the first member to join the group.  Some of Brians inspirations are Miles Davis, Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, Dan Hicks, Willie Nelson, and Bill Evans.
