Artist Information Biography Stoic's Handicap is Jennifer Ryan, a 27 year old native from the suburbs of Chicagoland. Jennifer's musical influences range from Tori Amos to Tool, and with her extensive vocal range from raging screams to other-worldly high notes and unique finger-picking style, it is a challenge to put her music into one specific category. She likes to think of her music as dark, ethereal, alternative rock. It’s hard to believe that only after a year of playing out live, Jen has played over 50 shows, released a live EP (Stoic's Handicap-Live at Hunter's Pub) and demo (Stoic's Handiwho?), worked with musicians associated with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and been asked to open for the likes of Loudon Wainwright, The Pat McCliman’s Group, and Caroline’s Spine- all by herself. Only one thing is for certain- don't let the "girl with the guitar" fool you.
