Biography
"I write pretty little songs for people with ugly little lives.  I like to think of what I do as empowering soul music for hopeless suburban white guys...oh, and I still play very, very loudly" - Brian Lisik

In 2006, Brian Lisik entered the studio with his brother, Craig (The Witch Hazel Sound; The All Golden; Trancas) and Guided By Voices producer Todd Tobias to record "Happiness Is Boring," the harder-edged follow-up to Lisik's 2004 full-length solo debut, "Baggage."

Cherokee Queen Records released "Happiness Is Boring" in July 2006, with the singles "Nothing I Can Do" and "Saving Grace" immediately gaining attention from college and public radio.

Lisik toured behind "Happiness" for the next two years - both solo and with his band - throughout the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic states,  while recording tracks for its follow-up CD, due out in Spring 2009.

A  DVD documentary ("On The Wrong Side Of The Canal") featuring performance footage from the tour, interviews, and the Eddie Tomecko-produced music video for the song "Outside The Elms," is  also scheduled for release this year.  Other in-the-works projects include a Web site-exclusive live CD, an on-the-road memoir recounting portions of the "Happiness" tour, and a collection of short stories and previously published columns and essays.

In 2004, Brian Lisik's full-length solo debut, "Baggage," became the most successful yet for the former frontman of late '90s pop-punkers The Giants Of Science.  Produced by Tomecko (Bone, Thugs and Harmony ; Don Dixon) and mastered by Nashville-based Bernie Grundman alumnus Erik Wolf (En Vogue; John Prine; Delbert McClinton), the 10-song collection yielded the moderate regional hits "Still Think I'm Breathing" and "Heaven Daddy."

Lisik has shared stages with acts such as Dixon,  Jesse Malin, Tim Easton, Roger McGuinn, and Kid Rock, and also made a cameo appearance in and contributed music to the independent film "Circle Track Summer," released in 2005 by Fools Gold Entertainment.
