Artist Information

Biography
Warren Charles is a piano & guitar duo co-fronted by brothers Lucas and Peter Jacobson. The duo began performing 16 years ago at a family wedding where they played “Pinball Wizard.” Backed by the wedding band, the brothers brought down the house, though they may have been more adorable than good at the time. Ever since, music has been an important part of both of their lives.

In middle school, Lucas played lead guitar for a rock band that covered the likes of Faith No More and Alice in Chains. Peter begrudgingly endured classical training in both piano and cello. He never took well to conventional finger builders though. Instead of practicing scales, Peter insisted that his instructor teach him how to play “The Flight of the Bumble Bee.”

In college, Lucas went on to perform with a fraternity group called The Master-BETAs. He was also chorister for his house, which ultimately meant he had to teach a bunch of tone-deaf frat boys how to serenade sorority girls. Peter started his own college rock band called The Rescue that performed frequently on and off campus including one particularly bizarre gig where they provided entertainment for the creation of the world’s longest spring roll (1424 ft).

After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in mechanical engineering, Lucas moved to Los Angeles to work for a company that specialized in animatronics. (Think Jaws or the T-Rex from Jurassic Park). Meanwhile, Peter double-majored in Economics and English at Cornell University. Anxious to join his brother in sunny California and pursue a career in music, Peter graduated early trading frostbitten winters for endless summers.

Warren Charles has been performing in and around Los Angeles since 2003. Now, having paid their dues in the entertainment capital of the world, the duo splits time between the east and west coast. Based out of both LA and NYC, Warren Charles is perfect for the collegiate crowd who sees intellectualizing over music as a welcome form of procrastination.
