Artist Information Biography Eighteen Individual Eyes will make you want to switch teams. Based out of Seattle, WA, the quartet, comprised of four friends/two couples, formed after a winter of frequent tequila shots and being those loud girls at the bar, laughing and yelling about bringing something fresh and nicely dressed to the scene. Eighteen Individual Eyes was highly anticipated among local tastemakers and had hundreds of Facebook fans before even recording a song or playing a show. Irene Barber (vocals and guitar) and Chrysti Harrison (guitar), formerly of Hungry Pines, left behind a majestic legacy whispered about in the darkest corners of the hippest Capitol Hill clubs. Jamie Hellgate (drums) has been cited as “one of the best musicians in Seattle” as guitarist/singer of H Is for Hellgate and original bassist of The Redwood Plan. Samantha Wood (bass) is the rookie of the band, although she descends from a reputable music bloodline – her father is the inventor of the Moog guitar. Collectively, the members of the band have been recognized in MSN.com’s Consumer Music Guide, Venus Zine, Seattle Magazine, the Stranger and KEXP. Eighteen Individual Eyes recorded their debut EP with Lucas Carlyle (ex- Bear Creek, assistant engineer for The Gossip, Metric, Kate Tucker), and can be heard bumping out the same stereos as Land of Talk, Electrelane, and Blonde Redhead. The EP is released on Jamie’s label, Scissor City Sound. When not on the stage, the band is reading Sylvia Plath under a sky of dream catchers and finding themselves in Tarantino-esque adventures of girls and every day gore. In previous bands, members of Eighteen Individual Eyes have played shows with: Les Savy Fav, The Gossip, Portugal. The Man, Kelly Stoltz, Panda and Angel, The Delgados, Vetiver, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Neon Blonde, The Lonely H, Super Deluxe, Erase Errata, Tracy + The Plastics, and many more.
