Biography
Jessica Mellott is a pop/rock singer, songwriter and actress from Maryland, with an incredible vocal range and beautiful tone. The 2006 Los Angeles Music Awards “Pop Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year” began her vocal instruction when she was only five years old. Her training includes classical music, jazz, musical theater and contemporary pop.
Jessica’s extensive gigging experience includes a variety of venues; the Hard Rock Café, Walter Reed Medical Center, Warner Theater, Boston College Club, Hyannisport Golf Club, Renaissance Boston, Mandarin Oriental Hotel and many more.
Her compelling voice, songwriting skills and magnetic personality have attracted tremendous attention. Jessica was a main page featured artist on Zorpia.com (8 million+ users) where her song "Life Grabs You" received close to a million plays. At Myxer.com Jessica’s ringtone was downloaded over 6,000 times in the 24 hours it was highlighted. She is currently spotlighted on Snapvine.com (5 million+ users) and other websites. “Entertainment World” and other popular magazines have showcased her. On Myspace.com, Jessica’s popularity resulted in her being selected in a book about the social site. Jessica has upcoming features at several major internet sites including a popular video site. A Maryland Scholar for both vocals and academics, Jessica attends Berklee College of Music where she will be graduating a year early in May ’10.
Jessica is also an accomplished actress who boasts starring and supporting roles in shows ranging from “The Secret Garden” to “The Wiz”. In 2005, Jessica earned a certificate in Musical Theater from the respected New York arts camp Stagedoor Manor, whose alumni include actress Natalie Portman and pop singer Mandy Moore.
Jessica frequently uses her vocal talents to help the community. Her performances have ranged from singing annually at the “Finest and Bravest Ice Hockey Tournament” for 9/11 relief, to entertaining the armed forces, to performances that have helped raise thousands of dollars for the public school system.
