Biography
Mary Simon's formula is a simple, time-tested design - the Hamilton singer/songwriter's powerful voice and haunting melodies coupled with her stark lyrics and poignant delivery make for undeniably great songs, again and again. While her recordings embrace drum loops, electronic touches and other bursts of experimentation, Simon never strays too far from the acoustic-based core of her material in both her live performances and on record.
In 2008, Mary invited fans to join her in the studio as she recorded her first live Christmas CD. After a beautiful concert came the CD Snowflakes and Pine Trees with 2 original Christmas songs and 8 classic carols.
Yet to come is Mary's fifth record to be released in the February 2010. This album draws parallels to her love for folk rock artists such as Ryan Adams and Patty Griffin, with vulnerable lyrics and sweet sounds that Mary always delivers.
