Artist Information Biography Sally McKay - composer, vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, arranger/producer, along with Mike Young - bassist, keyboardist, programmer/arranger has been recording and producing since her 1995 CD “Never Say Nice”. After having her song "Big Heart" included on 102.1's 1996 New Rock Search CD and an appearance at Edgefest, Sally and Mike called themselves Lovage and, released in 1998 the stunning and heartbreakingly intimate “Idiots & Mystics”. A shared love of electronic-driven beats saw the pair moving more and more into the dance spectrum all the while maintaining the shape and melody of song. In 2003, the pair, renamed as Phauna, released two 12”s and a full length CD, “Paradise” on Play Records, one of Toronto’s leading independent dance labels. Their songs have been remixed by the likes of kemeticJust, Augusta (Paul E. Lopez, Patrick Paredes, Stephanne Vera - Tecknostep) Sans Soleil, Middlefield, Brian Ireland, tuube and DJ Peace Harvest. Phauna's recording of Naturally was recently featured in an episode of the TV series The G-Spot. Phauna's new music sees a return to a more personal and intimate soundscape where acoustic and electronic mix freely. A new ep, in the dark, has a scheduled fall 2007 release.
