Biography
In 2003, Murdocks formed in a scorching-hot public storage unit in Austin, TX and immediately hit the ground running – playing hundreds of shows all across the country and nationally releasing one full length record (2005’s Surrenderender) and two Eps. With every release the band continues to churn out catchy, hook-filled, melodic songs that draw attitude from their punk rock roots and incorporate elements of indie rock, garage rock, and power-pop. With distorted sing-scream vocals, a driving rhythm section that never lets up, and lyrics as innocent as they are morbid, Murdocks mix the fun with the dirty – the punch of a drunk with the face of a beauty.

- They tour like madmen, having played nearly 250 shows in 31 different states and sold thousands of records the old fashion way – one new fan at a time.
- Opened for Cake, Local H, The Thrills, and What Made Milawaukee Famous and has been accepted into a number of music industry festivals including, CMJ Music Marathon, The Warped Tour, NEMO, Atlantis, The Florida Music Festival, The New Music Festival and more.
- Currently signed to Surprise Truck Entertainment (Hollywood, CA) in the US and Unterm Durschnitt International (Cologne, Germany) in Europe.
- All 3 of the Murdocks releases have charted on CMJ’s Top 200. Their debut EP climbed as high as #80 on the charts.
- The band’s last album was met with critical acclaim having been reviewed in more than 100 blogs and publications world-wide.
- Preparing the release of a new album recorded with producer by Erik Wofford (My Morning Jacket, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Explosions In The Sky, The Black Angels) for release in the Spring of 2010.
