Cathy Richardson is a GRAMMY Nominated and 4 time DIY Award winning singer, songwriter, musician, producer, actress and designer- independently releasing and selling over 30,000 copies of her seven albums of original material, Ms. Richardson is also the new lead singer of the legendary Jefferson Starship (with founding members Paul Kantner and David Freiberg). Richardson spent much of 2009 headlining the Heroes of Woodstock tour with Jefferson Starship, including the sold-out 40th Anniversary of Woodstock on the original site in Bethel, NY. Richardson's performance with the band will be featured in an upcoming 3D concert film called the Road to Woodstock.

She starred as Janis Joplin in the original Off Broadway cast of the hit show Love, Janis, and in several regional productions including Chicago (her hometown) and San Francisco (where she now resides). She also toured the US in 2007 singing with Janis Joplin's original band members Big Brother and the Holding Co. and occasionally sits in when schedule allows.

Richardson continues to expand her ever-growing fanbase in support of her seventh release, Delusions of Grandeur (Cash Rich, 2006), the follow-up to the GRAMMY nominated the Road to Bliss (Cash Rich, 2003). Delusions received two of the top 2007 DIY Awards, Album of the Year and Producer of the Year.

Upon relocating to San Francisco in 2007, Richardson was immediately embraced by some of the city's most illustrious rock musicians, jamming with Big Brother at the Monterey County Fairgrounds (site of the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival) and fronting an all star band for an audience of 100,000 people at the San Francisco 40th Anniversary of the Summer of Love Concert in Golden Gate Park.

She also formed a new collaboration with producer/songwriter/guitarist Zack Smith, best known for his work with the 80s band Scandal. The pair launched their new group, The Macrodots, this year at San Francisco's West Fest in Golden Gate Park and will be featured in the forthcoming DVD release as well as a documentary for French television.

Richardson can be seen on tv as a regular on the rocking music education show for kids, Jack’s Big Music Show (Noggin). She's also appeared on CBS Morning News, the Sandra Bernhard Experience (A&E) and her voice can be heard on the soundtracks of HBO's the Vagina Monologues and Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
