Biography Amidst a sea of the many indistinguishable young pop-punk bands coming to fruition lately, A Moment’s Worth stands out with a refreshing, distinct sound—one that unabashedly shouts “Wake up and live fearlessly.” Capturing the energy and excitement of the emotionally-charged teen and young adult years, AMW’s lyrics are drawn from real-life situations that listeners of practically all ages and backgrounds can relate to. And it’s not by accident. “I don’t believe in empty words or lyrics,” says Bondarev. “When I was very young, I became really meticulous in trying to express myself when writing songs and articulate what I was feeling, since it didn’t come as easily to me in everyday conversation,” Bondarev reflects on his immigration from Russia to America. Drawing from influences like Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind, AMW’s music is essentially built on the stories of friendships, relationships, life and death, and other weighty real-life experiences. Perhaps the strongest influence behind AMW’s music and spirit are the ties that bond both its band members—five best friends from the Bronx, New York—as well as the band with their fans. With fans so devoted, many have even gotten AMW lyrics tattooed on themselves, how could anyone not be driven by such a passionate dynamic? One where kids are always singing along at live shows, really letting themselves sink into the music while they embrace the idea of waking up and living fearlessly. In addition to AMW’s incredibly close relationship with their fans, the band’s strong DIY ethic continues to influence every aspect of their music—from writing, recording, and producing material, to band artwork, to their venture in building their own practice studio and recording space. As Terzulli puts it, “We’re a band that’s trying hard, not a small band that believes that we are the next coming of Christ.” AMW has released three CDs to date: Ironic Last Words (2004), A Moment's Worth (2007) and Sleepless (2008), each of which was met with a greater anticipation than the previous. Ironic Last Words served as an introspective memoir and quickly became a staple of the teenage lives following the underground band; Sleepless represents their transition to maturity as individuals and as a band. The title refers to the energy of this album (the band was literally sleepless while creating it—working day and night with unshakable productivity!) and to the overarching message that seeks to wake people up and rekindle the belief in music as inspiration. In May 2009, AMW partnered with In-n-Out Records (New Found Glory, Finch, Allister, Fenix TX) in Japan; their first release will be a compilation of both the Sleepless EP and self-titled CD. The band is currently hard at work writing new material and shooting a music video for the title track “Sleepless” with (Rockhard Films).
