Hey everyone!!
Just a quick update - wow, I've been super super busy finishing up my album!! I've got only 2 songs left to record and they happen to be songs that I co-wrote with Jamie Warren and Sean Hogan. Speaking of Sean, he's invited me to be a part of his 6th annual Canadian Country Christmas Tour for the Ontario Dates! Keep watching this site and my www.tonyakennedy.com site for all the deets!!
Other than that.... well, I'm shooting my first video on Jan 9th! Can I get a woot woot!! lol, I can't wait - it's to help support my next song to radio - on Feb 8th. Soon I'll have a sneak peak for you of the song but for now - you're just gonna have to wait! haha

EXCITING NEWS: Tonya has been approved by FACTOR for both the Independent Recording Program AND for Marketing And Promotion!! Be sure to keep an eye and ear out for Tonya's new release in Feb 2010, both single to radio and video to CMT!!
Tonya Kennedy is a proud Newfoundland Gal ~ living in Barrie, Ontario. In 2008 & now in 2009 Tonya continues to soar in the Canadian Country Music scene!! First by charting with 3 singles released to radio, & to date Tonya has had the pleasure of opening up for:

So far ~ 2009 ~ is off to a great start:
- Funding assistance from FACTOR for both the recording and marketing of Tonya's upcoming release.
- Orgainized 3rd annual benefit concert and donated a grand total of $14000 to The Canadian Breast Cancer (over past 3 years).
- Invited to be a featured performer at the 2009 Sean Hogan Christmas Tour Ontario Dates!
Tonya began her pursuit of music in 1999 where she became a powerful force in the world of Pop Rock touring Ontario and various provinces in Canada until 2004. During that time, Tonya realized her passion was in the world of Country music and in 2005 Tonya entered a competition through Durham based KX96 Country Music Radio and was crowned the KX96 Super Star Search winner. Her grand prize was an opportunity to record and release a country song to Canadian Radio.
Today Tonya is a dedicated & driven country music singer songwriter. She offers a unique sound that some say might remind you of a young Tanya Tucker or Carlene Carter. This Atlantic artist’s passion has been proven in the Canadian Country music scene with a strong impact on radio and on stages across the country including festivals such as: Toronto Street Festival, Toronto Winterfest, Kempenfest, & Magna Hoedown just to name a few. In the past year alone Tonya as been selected to showcase at: The ECMA’s in Fredericton & The Mark Trail Music Showcase at the Douglas Corner Café in Nashville TN.
Tonya has teamed up with industry legend J. Richard Hutt (Jamie Warren, Beverley Mahood, Lace) and is in the finishing stages of her debut CD. With 3 singles already at radio Tonya is excited for 2009 and is more than ready to establish her place in the Canadian Country Music scene!!
