Biography
This Northwest hip-hop MC and producer's aesthetic of powerful rhythms, creative lyricism and social relevance has quickly drawn a diverse and enthusiastic audience of fans and friends.

The beats and rhymes began when Shae Morin fused the multi-layered anything-goes philosophy of underground rap music with his own organic arrangements of live instruments and sampling.

Shae is a multi-instrumentalist who has studied both classical and jazz while staying true to musical instincts firmly rooted in hip-hop. What you hear is the result of many long hours invested in production, song-writing and successful collaborations.

Excerpt from Vancouver’s “Under the Volcano Music Festival write-up:

Shae Morin's live show combines high energy and a kinetic connection to the audience, borne out of underground sensibilities and a deep commitment to youth. Shae will be lending his break-beat drumming, bass playing, and mic-gripping to the sonic stew. Folkfest organizers described Shae as "...one of the most interesting, ethically-sound & talented MC's to emerge from the new wave of talents in Canada and he'll go on to make important contributions to the hip hop community."

Shae Morin has performed throughout Canada and the U.S including stops at the Vancouver Folk Festival and The Engage Tour as well as bookings to open for acts such as the legendary James Brown, L.A rapper The Game, Swollen Members, K'Naan and many others.

Versus has single-handedly opened up the Northwest reaches of BC to a new kind of hip-hop, a new kind of music; an exploration of what hip-hop might become...A fusion of live and electronic drums, pounding rhythms, slide-guitars, funky orchestras, fragile melodies, and nuanced, heartfelt lyrics.
