Biography
DarZana is an emerging band from San Diego, CA specializing in music with heart and soul. This 4-piece band got their name from a Sanskrit word meaning "peace," "dream" and "vision." DarZana is writing and performing original music with a soulful blend of rock, pop, and rhythm & blues -- sometimes embellished with diverse styles like reggae, funk, punk and even heavy metal.
Lead singer Christy Gilardi will captivate you with her soulful and powerful vocals and as a performer, move you with her heartfelt passion. Lead guitarist Mike Dillon has a tremendous feel, a San Diego veteran musician who has a deep and dynamic style, potent in rhythm & blues. Darzana's powerhouse rhythm section players are also San Diego veterans -- bassist Tim Salas and drummer John Sheppard. Tim's fluid and melodic approach to playing is very complimentary to John's solid and tasteful drumming style.
Darzana's debut album, "Magic Cats and Dogs," was self-released in June, 2006 and has been receiving rave reviews from people of all ages and walks of life. If you like your rock n' roll with melodic, powerful vocals, tasteful guitar, and a strong solid groove, DarZana's music will definitely fit the bill.
