Summary

Musician's Friend Token Listing - Free Submission. Proceeds from the 10th Annual Florence Winter Folk Festival will go towards enhancing the music program in the local schools, providing free concerts to students and to support the local community event center. Selected artists may sell CDs and will be paid a honorarium of $500. Lodging can also be provided if necessary for selected artists. Last year, 3 of the 7 artists who performed at the event were booked through Sonicbids./n/nThe 10th Annual Florence Winter Folk Festival is now accepting applications. The festival will be held in January 14-15, 2012. It includes acoustic music, arts & crafts, food, demonstrations, jam sessions, and workshops. Performances are located in a world-class 450 seat auditorium and in other venues in the community.


The festival will have a total of 8 performers in addition to the headliners. Each performer is expected to perform up to two sets of up to 60 minutes in length. Selected artists may sell CDs and will be paid a honorarium of $500. Lodging can also be provided if necessary for selected artists. Last year, 3 of the 7 non headlining artists who performed at the event were booked through Sonicbids.



The proceeds of the festival go towards enhancing the music program in the local schools, providing free concerts to students and to support the local community event center. Last year over 1,800 people attended the festival and free concerts by The Trail Band were provided to over 900 school children.


Previous performers have included Tom Paxton, The Limeliters, The Highwaymen, The New Christy Minstrels, The Brothers Four, Barry McGuire, Chad & Jeremy and others. Headliners for this year are Tom Chapin & Friends and We Five.


Groups with loud percussion or electric instruments will not be selected. Instruments such as acoustic electric guitars, electric bass, banjos, mandolins, fiddles, and tasteful drum kits such as bohdrans are totally acceptable. The festival provides a professional sound engineer and sound system. Please note that artists are also responsible for their own transportation.
