Summary

The Calgary Reggae Festival Society is booking at least 1 Sonicbids artist for the 2015 Calgary International Reggae Festival.  Compensation is provided.

The Opportunity

The Calgary International Reggae Festival (ReggaeFest) is one of Western Canada's festivals showcasing reggae music and culture. The 12th annual ReggaeFest will take place at Shaw Millennium Park in downtown Calgary and several indoor/outdoor venues from August 13th to the 15th. It will feature 10-15 performers and is expected to have 3,000-5,000 attendees.

Ky-Mani Marley, Beres Hammond, L.U.S.T., Third World, The Soulicitors, Steele, Maxi Priest, Inner Circle, Brinsley Forde, Bryan Art

Previous Sponsors Include:
Village Brewery, Appleton, Virgin Radio, Global

The Band

  • Reggae artists only
  • 18+ (all members)
  • Family friendly
  • Solo artists must work with ReggaeFest's house band
  • Preference given to artists with a high level of originality
  • Submitted EPKs with little to no information provided will not be considered
  • Travel costs (including transportation, visa or immigration) are the responsibility of the performer

The Gig

Details:

  • Sets are 20-45 minutes
  • Indoor and outdoor performances
  • Backline provided
  • Professional sound and lighting provided
  • Sound engineer on hand
Additional Compensation Details:
  • Performers draw in the Calgary market will greatly influence compensation
  • Negotiated at time of booking
  • Artists keep 90% of their merchandise sales
  • Food and drink provided
  • Guest passes provided (number depends on act's size)

Terms And Conditions

All performances MUST be for a general audience. No infractions will be tolerated. Selections will be partially based on lyric / performance content. Preference is given to original material. Immigration and visa fees are the responsibility of the performer. CRF does NOT promote "Headliners." All performers are given equal billing. Selected acts agree to work with ReggaeFest in the best interest of the festival.

Compensation

  • Percentage of Merchandise Sales: 90%
