Summary

Brite Winter is an indoor/outdoor artist showcase event in Cleveland, Ohios Historic Ohio City Market District. In it's 5th year, the festival is a celebration of art and creativity in the wintertime with temporary light-art displays created by installation artists and music performed by up and coming musicians from across North America. It is looking for 20+ Sonicbids artists to perform live during the one day festival on February, 15th 2014.

Past performers include: The Floorwalkers, Total Babes, TEEN, Bears of Blue River, Bethesda, Saintseneca, Freeze-Tag, Thaddeus Anna Greene, The Lighthouse & The Whaler, Tom Evanchuck & The Old Money, This Moment in Black History, Meridian, Honeybucket, Black Taxi, Bad Veins, Lucy Stone, Tin Armor, and many many more.

Brite Winter Festival is easily poised to become Cleveland's answer to something like South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, or Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. ~ The Plain Dealer

Selected artists will receive:


  • Compensation for performance

  • Food & Beverage in Artist Hospitality Lounge

  • 100% of income from merchandise sold at the event

  • Select offers for traveling artists include hotel accommodation



Submission Criteria:


  • Artists of a all genres are encouraged to submit

  • Artists who are based in the United States & Canada willing & able to cover their own traveling expense

  • Artists are encouraged to arrange a tour around the festival date



About the festival:

Clevelands Winter Art & Music Festival began in 2010 as a small collaboration of graduate students with several hundred people coming out to enjoy some art, music and fun outside in a snowy city park. Each year the festival has exponentially grown in size with 1,700 attendees in 2011, 10,000 attendees in 2012 and 20,000 attendees in 2013.

All aspects of the festival are completely free for attendees, made possible by sponsorship, grants, and individual donations to Brite Cleveland, the registered 501c3 non-profit which organizes Brite Winter each year.

The festival is characterized with unique lighting installations located throughout the Ohio City Market District and a host of 50 or more diverse genre music showcases on over a half dozen stages, indoors and outdoors. The music showcases are curated through Cleveland based music production company, Bad Racket Recording Studio, and feature stand out upcoming artists from across North America.
