The Opportunity
The event, taking place at the Delta Ottawa City Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, will include 4 days & 5 nights of entertainment showcases, networking, trade show and educational sessions. Approximately 130 delegates will be in attendance representing 55 schools from across the country.
Selected artists must pay a showcase fee. Selected artists must become a COCA Associate or be represented by a company that is, or will become, a COCA Associate. All selected acts must be represented in the trade show (Biz Hall) either by a member of the act or by a company representing the act. Trade show dates are June 10-11, 2016. COCA membership and Conference Registration (trade show booth and official delegate) forms are available at COCA website under Events - National Conference - 2016.
The Band
- Genres accepted include, but are not limited to rock, Americana, folk, singer/songwriter, acoustic, urban, electronic, DJ, soul, reggae, spoken word, lecture, comedy, non-music
The Gig
Details
- Standup Comedy sets are 15 minutes each
- All other sets are 20 minutes each
- All showcases will be advanced by the production manager with the acts selected to showcase at the conference
- Sound checks are the morning or afternoon on the day of the showcase
- There will be 5 different showcases stages with no overlap between sets
- Artists may sell merch on-site
