The Special ASCAP Showcase has been added for 6 artists who submit prior to the March 10th deadline. One of those artists will also receive the Paint It Black Studios package, valued at $1500./n/nFMF2010 has officially extended their deadline through March 10th in order to offer 6 brand-new exclusive ASCAP Industry Showcase slots and a chance for a 3-day demo session at Paint It Black Studios!

  • 6 bands will receive an exclusive ASCAP Industry Showcase at The Social on Saturday, April 24th during the Florida Music Festival.

  • 1 of these 6 bands will be selected to receive a Three Day/One Song demo session at Paint It Black Studios, the same studios utilized by bands like Paramore and Alter Bridge (Universal).

FMF2010 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED!

The 9th Annual Florida Music Festival is very excited to welcome Co-Presidents/Founders of Universal Republic Records: Monte & Avery Lipman Universal Republic Records is a record label subsidiary of The Universal Motown/Universal Republic Group.

Formed in 1995 by the Lipmans, today Universal Republic is responsible for numerous breakthrough and mainstream chart topping artists, including a diverse array of groundbreaking imprints and ventures encompassing new and established platinum and multi-platinum acts, including Amy Winehouse, Anberlin, Chamillionaire, Colbie Caillat, Jay Sean, 3 Doors Down, Alter Bridge, Mika, Florence & the Machine, Godsmack, Rehab, Jack Johnson, Owl City and Lil Jon, among others. Gossip Girl star Leighton Meeser recently signed as well.

As the largest music networking event in the southeast, the 2010 Florida Music Festival is set to break records again with more than 200 industry, 250 bands and solo artists, and over 25,000 music fans expected in attendance. FMF is held each Spring throughout Downtown Orlando at more than 15 state of the art indoor/outdoor venues, stages and theatres. This year's FMF will be held April 21st-24th, 2010. The Festival offers submitting artists the unique opportunity for all members to attend the Industry Panels & Conferences with access to major industry players. They will also have the chance to perform on sold-out stages from 500 capacity indoors, to 5000 capacity outdoors.

Submit now: Six selected artists who submit prior to the March 10th deadline will receive an ASCAP Industry Showcase performance slot.

THE MUSIC:

Past unsigned artist Festival performers include Taylor Swift, Flyleaf, The Academy Is, Manchester Orchestra, There For Tomorrow and many others. Mainstage headliners have included Third Eye Blind, Flogging Molly, Buckcherry, Filter, Everclear, Less Than Jake, Yellowman, Blue Man Group, Pras of the Fugees, and members of Creed and Matchbox Twenty.

THE INDUSTRY:

The music industry saturates the event with past Keynote speakers and attendees including names like John Janick (CEO: Fueled By Ramen: Panic! At The Disco/Fallout Boy), Richard Reines (CEO: Drive Thru: Something Corporate/New Found Glory), Steve Robertson (VP of A&R: Atlantic Records: Shinedown/Paramore), Matt Pinfield (VH1), Ron Burman (VP Roadrunner: Nickelback), Rodney Jerkins (Producer: Michael Jackson, Beyonce) as well as reps from Atlantic, Capitol, Epic, CAA, APA, WMA, ASCAP, BMI, Activision, Myspace and Purevolume to name just a few.



Gibson, The Florida Grammy Association and BMI are also returning again this year with prize opportunities during the Submission Period including a brand new Gibson Les Paul and an all expense paid Mainstage Showcase!

THE FILM & VISUAL ARTS:

The FMF weekend includes two other significant aspects- the Indie Film Jam and Rock Walk art exhibition. The 6th annual Indie Film Jam will feature a juried competition of music videos and music inspired documentaries. Past IFJ presenting speakers include Flogging Molly screening Whisky on a Sunday, Pras of The Fugees showing Skid Row and Thomas Ian NIcholas(American Pie, Rookie of the Year) presenting independent videos.

*Please note* All submitting artists will receive a laminate for each band member to attend the conferences panels and artist only events. Artists that have submitted and are selected will receive passes for all 15 venues for the day of their showcase only.

*Please note* that artists from Florida or Puerto Rico that submit to FMF prior to March 4, 2010, are automatically entered into the Florida Grammy Showcase, to be held April 21, 2009. Do not make a separate submission if you qualify.
