Summary
The 31st MayFair in Harvard Square will be held on Sunday May 4th, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm throughout five closed blocks in the heart of Harvard Square. The event is attended annually by over 150,000 people.
MayFair features 4 stages of music, dance, art, street performances and 200+ artisans and merchants offering handmade, vintage, recycled, costume, antique, and sidewalk sale items. There will be around 10 artists playing the event. This is a great opportunity for artists to get exposure through MayFairs press coverage, both in print and on-line. MayFair also offers artists year-round visibility on http://www.harvardsquare.com and tables at the event to sell merch all day!
Previous Sonicbids bands selected for the event include: Oranjuly, Darlingside, Love in Stockholm, and Naked on Rollerskates.
All genres are accepted; however, this is a family-friendly event so music must be family-friendly to be considered.
People attending MayFair enjoy music while standing in what are typically the busy car-trafficked streets of Harvard Square. Mayfair features a block long gallery of Chalk Art and a few outdoor beer gardens including a SAM ADAMS/Grafton Street Beer Garden in front of Out of Town News.
MayFair is the ultimate "taste of" event featuring over 30 restaurant vendors where one can sample international cuisine, festival favorites, and delicious desserts.
