Summary

2013 will be the fifth annual Northside Festival! This 8-day discovery experience of music, art, film, entrepreneurship and technology takes place within the walkabout radius of North Brooklyn. Northside touches 80,000+ attendees each year with 350 bands, 50 films, 120 panelists, all taking place across 40 venues.

Dozens of the most influential NYC-based record labels, blogs, radio stations and independent show promoters including BrooklynVegan, FREEwilliamsburg, and Brooklyn Bodega, are being invited to curate their own showcases to be hosted at the area's many music venues. Artists will be paid a standard percentage of ticket sales after the venue has recouped its costs for the evening. At least 10 Sonicbids artists will be selected for this opportunity.

Some highlights from 2012 include: Jens Lekman, of Montreal, GZA, Kool Keith, Olivia Tremor Control, Asobi Seksu, Beach Fossils, The Black Belles, Black Dice, Tinariwen, Caveman, Cold Cave, Felice Brothers, Future of the Left, Harkonen, Starfucker and Wise Blood.
