Road to Indie Week : Alberta 2014

Indie Week is taking over Alberta with The Road to Indie Week in Calgary and Edmonton, offering artists a chance to showcase their talent at a local venue. Not only are bands competing for $1,000 and best band in Alberta bragging rights, but also the chance to showcase in Toronto for the 11th annual INDIE WEEK CANADA festival this October 14th-19th. Apply now to gain exposure, meet industry professionals, and expand your reach from the Alberta to the east coast, west coast and beyond!

All bands applying to The Road to Indie Week are automatically entered into INDIE WEEK CANADA and will be considered for a showcase spot regardless of being selected for the Road to Indie Week or outcomes for their Road to Indie Week participation (meaning: bands do not have to submit an application to The Road to Indie Week Alberta And Indie Week).

Here's how it works:

• Winner of Road to Indie Week Alberta will headline our Alberta showcase at Indie Week in Toronto CanadaOctober 14th-19th which was a SOLD OUT crowd in 2013.
• If the Winner of Road to Indie Week Alberta is voted as the top act of their Indie Week Canada showcase they will play the next round and potentially the finals of Indie Week Canada.
• Winner of the Finals of Indie Week Canada will play Indie Week Ireland 2015 (April) with flights and accommodations for up to 5 bands members provided for by Indie Week (flights/accommodations for band members only)

• Calgary Round 1 - Friday May 23
• Calgary Round 2 - Saturday July 26
• Edmonton Round 1 - Friday July 4
• Edmonton Round 2 - Saturday July 5
• Alberta Finals in Calgary - Saturday August 23

The Road to Indie Week- EDMONTON & CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA

Here's how it works:

• Bands have a chance to perform in 1 of 2 rounds (Calgary - May 23 & July 26, Edmonton - July 4 & 5)
• The top 2 acts from each round to perform at the finals (Calgary - August 23)
• The 8 winning acts go head to head where one act will be selected as the overall winner
• Winner of Road to Indie Week: Alberta will headline the Alberta
• showcase at Indie Week in Toronto, Canada, October 15-19, 2014.
• The winner of The Road to INDIE WEEK ALBERTA 2014 will also receive $1000 cash to go towards travel costs

This is a great opportunity for a band to make a splash in their local scene, gain recognition and then move on to perform at one of Canada's top indie music festivals. In 2014, the Road to Indie Week: Alberta is taking place during May, July, and August in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. For more info on the event click here.

By having judging at the shows, INDIE WEEK guarantees that it is a showcase in front of industry and not a showcase that really is only just a show.
