Summary

Under the Radar is now taking submissions for its digital sampler, which is the ideal way to get your music directly into its readers' hands. Each track on the sampler is mentioned in the house ad, which includes artwork, URL, label name, etc. A special code is printed in the house ad and the last one was downloaded more than 40,000+ times while only being on the shelf for five weeks. Four tracks from Sonicbids submissions will be selected.

This opportunity is to get your song featured in Under The Radar's Protest Issue, which is published every four years. The issue will feature photo shoots of many notable musicians holding protest signs of their own making and articles that touch on those political and social topics most important to indie musicians. This is always one of the best-selling and most-talked about issues.

Under the Radar is an indie music magazine that releases five issues a year and that reaches 168,000+ young and hip readers and is distributed throughout North America, Europe and elsewhere.

Under the Radar mainly covers indie rock and indie pop and is most interested in artists from those genres. Although most of its features are on indie rock bands, Under the Radar also has special subsections in the album reviews section devoted to Americana/alt-country, electronica, hip-hop, jazz, reissues, and singles/EPs. The magazine is also interested in shoegazing, space-rock, and soul groups. The magazine generally does not cover these genres: hardcore, metal, punk, hard rock, pop-punk, mainstream pop, smooth jazz, mainstream country, Classical, blues, and new age.

This is your chance to be featured side-by-side with major artists like Beirut, Feist, Tegan and Sara, Modest Mouse, Bjork, Deerhunter, Vampire Weekend, Jens Lekman, The Shins, MGMT, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Rilo Kiley, Spoon, Interpol, Jarvis Cocker, Band of Horses, Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem, and many others.
