At Unisong (created for songwriters, by songwriters, and going strong since 1997), we pride ourselves on the personal attention we give our entrants, unique opportunities, pioneering innovations, and having fun trying to stay one step ahead of the pack. For this edition of the competition we are offering 16 songwriting categories across a wide range of musical genres to cover whatever you are writing: Pop Ballad, Pop Uptempo/Dance, Country, Rock (Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Alternative, Heavy Metal, & Soft Rock), Acoustic/Folk, R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap, AAA/Americana, Gospel/Christian, Jazz & Blues (Vocal or Instrumental, Social/Political, Children's, World Music (Including Latin, Reggae, & Non-English), Instrumental (Any style of music), Seasonal/Specialty (Christmas, Broadway, Cabaret, Patriotic, Novelty, Wedding, Birthday), Lyrics Only, and Performance (Artist & Song) where the winner is judged equally on the quality of their song AND the performance of it.

Popular Unisong features include our “Winners of the Month,” an additional “contest-within-a-contest” where one winner selected in-house will automatically be selected from all entries in a given month and awarded $250 cash and prizes, plus a one month individual spotlight of the writer and their song on our website.



We also offer a quality critique for any song (once you submit your first song, this option will become available). For this 12th edition we will be offering it in two versions, a more standard form, or fuller custom critique. Our team of knowledgeable and helpful critique experts are drawn from the same high level pool of songwriters, publishers, artists, and record company executives who do our regular judging.



And once again we'll be making our Discmakers/Unisong Volume 4 Winner’s compilation CD (consisting of all the main 1st prize category winners plus the four “Winner of the Month” songs) that we promote around the industry for additional exposure for our top winners.
